I primarly use the latest version of blender to design models.
Various types of models I can create are organic, inorganic, boned and rigged. Texturing is done in photoshop or using the inbuilt node editor.

The following explores lighting within scenes. However the arm rig also focused on rigging and weighting a model. Emmisive lighting was also explored.

These various gun models are used for a variety of projects. Some are used for animation, some for modelling, or simple to gain experience hard modelling.
